Current Projects in The Energy Corridor District
N. Dairy Ashford Road Safe Crossing Improvements and Sidewalk Mobility Improvement Project

The N. Dairy Ashford Road Safe Crossing Improvements project is set to enhance pedestrian and cyclist safety while improving overall mobility. Key upgrades include:
- A new mid-block crosswalk
- Safer left turn lanes
- Relocated bus stops for better accessibility
- Improved bike lanes to support a safer, more efficient commute
These enhancements aim to create a more pedestrian-friendly environment while easing traffic congestion. With construction set to begin soon, these improvements will play a significant role in making the area safer and more accessible for all.
Project Locations

I-10 Wall Painting Project
The Energy Corridor District will repaint the freeway walls of Interstate-10 from Kirkwood to Barker Cypress beginning in March.
The project is an initial effort intended to improve the identity of the Energy Corridor by introducing a new paint design to the freeway walls. The District continues to explore complementary projects, such as landscape improvements, that will build upon the goal of creating a distinguishable public space.
Once the project begins, it may take five to six months to complete.
The District will work to minimize traffic disruptions by limiting lane closures to non-peak hours.

Park Ten Wastewater Treatment Plant Construction Project
The City of Houston’s Public Works Department is conducting a large-scale, 18-month-long wastewater diversion project in the Energy Corridor that will intermittently disrupt traffic from Park Row to parts of Eldridge and Memorial Drive.
The phased project will divert wastewater from the Park Ten Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to a newer sanitary system east of Highway 6.
