Energy Corridor Hike and Bike Trails

The Terry Hershey Park Buffalo Bayou is the crown jewel of Houston’s hike and bike trails, conveniently located in the thriving Energy Corridor District! The trails lead to some of the District’s best Eldridge Parkway restaurants, the Kendall Library and Community Center and some of our luxury multi-family complexes, allowing people who live and work in the District to bike to work if they choose! The District is also adjacent to the acres of green space and recreation at the Barker and Addicks Reservoirs, giving outdoor lovers varied options, views and activities.

West Houston Trails Master Plan

The West Houston Trails Master Plan (WHTMP) began as a partnership between the National Park Service and The Energy Corridor District. The WHTMP was created to encompass 113,000 acres within a 6-mile radius centered at the intersection of I-10 and State Highway 6. The goal of the plan is to create a shared-use trail system that will link residential areas with business centers and parks and provide alternative transportation opportunities through outdoor recreation, riparian preservation and restoration. Read the master plan here.
