Construction Update: Memorial Drive Resurfacing Project

In early January, the City of Houston set out traffic controls for the resurfacing of Memorial Drive between Highway 6 and North Eldridge Parkway. The work has officially started and we are happy to share that the City’s timeline shows the work progressing lane by lane from now through the month of March, 2026.

Traffic delays should be expected as crews work to resurface the street to create smoother, safer conditions and help reduce traffic.

PRELIMINARY SCHEDULE IS AS FOLLOWS:

Mill & Level Up (Lane 1 to 5):

  • Lane 1: January 12 – January 18
  • Lane 2: January 12 – January 25
  • Lane 3: January 19 – February 1
  • Lane 4: January 26 – February 8
  • Lane 5: February 2 – February 8

Install Glass Grid & Overlay:

  • Lane 1: February 9 – February 15
  • Lane 2: February 9 – February 22
  • Lane 3: February 16 – March 1
  • Lane 4: February 23 – March 8
  • Lane 5: March 2 – March 8

    Clean Up/Restoration/Striping: March 9 - March 15

    Demobilization: March 16 - March 22
