H-GAC Memorial Drive Bicycle and Pedestrian Study Public Meeting
The second HGAC Memorial Drive Bicycle and Pedestrian Study Public Meeting was held on June 11, 2025. This study will help identify a vision for the futures of Memorial Drive and Grisby Road. The public provided input during the meeting that will help identify opportunities to enhance mobility for all road users, improve drainage, and provide additional landscaping and placemaking. Existing conditions, as well as retrofit and reconstruction options, were displayed for public feedback. The meeting was very well attended and the District is happy to partner with HGAC and their consultants to see this phase of the study come to fruition.
Recommendations from the study as well as the Final Report delivery are slated for September. If you missed the meeting, please visit the Project Website to review the materials and provide your feedback today! You can also subscribe for regular email updates on the Study’s progress.

Hurricane Season is Here – Stay Prepared
Hurricane season runs through November 30, and now is the time to make sure you, your family, and your business are prepared.
The Energy Corridor District encourages all residents, businesses, and property owners to have a plan in place. Make sure your emergency kits are stocked, important documents are secure, and evacuation routes are known.
The best way to stay safe during hurricane season is to be ready before a storm hits. Here are a few tips to get started:
Learn about the disaster plans at your workplace, your child’s school/daycare, and any other places your family spends time.
Talk with your family about where to meet if you can’t return home.
Know the emergency plans at work, school, and daycare.
Plan ahead for pets and anyone with medical or mobility needs.
Check your flood insurance and keep your coverage current.
Know how to turn off your power at the main breaker.
A little preparation now can make a big difference later. Make your plan, share it, and practice it.
Introducing the Energy Corridor District’s Summer Intern
"As the Energy Corridor District’s summer intern, I have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects that support the District’s ongoing growth and development.
With a background in environmental studies and an interest in urban planning, I’ve been using ArcGIS to create maps, compiling data to support planning decisions, and preparing background dossiers for key meetings. Being part of a small, collaborative team allows me to offer a fresh perspective and actively participate in strategic and planning conversations that help shape the District’s work.
It’s been an incredibly valuable hands-on experience. Most importantly, I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from such passionate and dedicated professionals.”
