Fluor Adds 105K Square Feet to Its Energy Corridor Lease in Major Expansion Prior to Move from Sugar land
After nearly 40 years at its Sugar Land complex, Fluor announced in 2023 that the company would be moving to a new location in The Energy Corridor District at Granite Properties’ Eldridge office complex. Already set to occupy the entirety of Three Eldridge, Fluor recently signed a lease for an additional 104,677 square feet—a total of five floors—at the neighboring Two Eldridge, therefore expanding its total square footage in the District to 412,853 square feet.
Fluor’s relocation comes as the company has expanded to employ a total of 1,600 workers, with plans to hire another 350 employees in Houston. According to the company, it moved to The Energy Corridor District because it’s closer to the business’s energy solutions clients and allows Fluor to more easily attract and retain top talent from nearby engineering firms.
“The Energy Corridor is having a major resurgence, and Eldridge is at the heart. Companies want to be close to where their employees live to shorten commute times and be close to their clients as well,” said Scott Martin, executive managing director of Granite Properties, which bought the Eldridge complex in 2019.
We cannot wait for Fluor to move into its new location at the end of summer 2024, and we’re excited to see what comes of their presence in the District!
