The Energy Corridor District is proud to partner with Commissioner Lesley Briones and the Precinct 4 team to deliver the Park Row-North Dairy Ashford Multi-Modal Connectivity Project, which provides mobility solutions to benefit and connect people across Precinct 4 and the Houston-Harris County region.
Elijah J. Williams, Executive Director of the Energy Corridor District, spoke at the press conference, highlighting how the project represents a commitment by the District and Harris County Precinct 4 to create connections and provide a safer environment for everyone. This project will provide critical transportation improvements at intersections listed on the High Injury Network and provide infrastructure to access trails, schools, transit, employment and housing.
The project will provide interconnected sidewalks spanning 3.5 miles along Park Row and N. Dairy Ashford Road within the Energy Corridor, from SH-6 to N. Eldridge Pkwy along Park Row and from N. Eldridge Pkwy to Memorial Dr along N. Dairy Ashford. Additionally, the project will close a major trail gap between Terry Hershey Trail and the Addicks Dam Trail, a foundational step to ensure the success of future trail connectivity projects and support the establishment of the Addicks Park and Ride as a future regional transit hub.
Additionally, The Energy Corridor District has decided to use grants from Precinct 4 and TXDOT to support Places 4 People. Through the Places 4 People initiative, Precinct 4 will invest $88 million over the next five years. By partnering with organizations like METRO, Houston Parks Board, The Energy Corridor District, various MUDs and other districts, Places 4 People will result in $170 million in sustainable infrastructure projects.

The District at Houston METRO’s Board Meeting
Mike Jackson, Manager of Public Realm & Special Projects for The Energy Corridor District, had the chance to speak at the most recent METRO Board meeting.
In his address, he outlined several reasons why the 67 Dairy Ashford route should be extended to the Addicks Park & Ride. The extension would allow the 67 to connect to other METRO routes and give local transit access to the businesses along North Dairy Ashford Road, including Shell Woodcreek and the new Midway Development.
Two additional transit service extensions along Park Row could provide access to the hospitals just west of Barker Cypress Road or even further west to Fry Road, serving multiple grocery stores. A new local transit service could serve numerous multi-family housing developments and businesses currently being developed in the area.
