The City of Houston Park Ten Wastewater Treatment Plant Project has restarted. Underground construction projects are difficult, and this one has been particularly complex as so many important pipelines run just beneath the surface of our major intersections.
Nowhere is this clearer than along Eldridge and Park Row where we expect traffic impacts to continue until the work is completed in summer 2025. To help keep things moving, we want to encourage our stakeholders to consider using either Highway 6 or Dairy Ashford for north/south travel and avoid Eldridge between Park Ten and Memorial.
For more information about the project, please sign up for project updates from the City of Houston here.
The Only Thing Hotter Than the Weather is the Real Estate Market
The Energy Corridor remains a top place for business relocations and in July, the District was excited to welcome Gulf Companies to their new home in the beautiful Eldridge Oaks building located at 1080 Eldridge Parkway.
Earlier this year, Stream Realty hosted the District’s quarterly commercial real estate round table and treated attendees to a sneak peek of the newly renovated space that features an outdoor patio area with direct connections to the trails in Terry Hershey Park. Gulf Companies joins several other major energy companies that call the District home.
The Energy Corridor District’s distinctive street signs, which have been installed since the District’s founding, are being removed and replaced with new signage.
The updated street signage reflects the District’s new branding, gives a fresh look to the area and is a great way to highlight the District as a place; they help people immediately understand where they are, but also serve as reminders about how unique an area The Energy Corridor District is.
The new signage features our primary colors in red and blue with white lettering making them easier to read and see. The new signage is sure to make a difference in the look and feel of the District.
TAG Reception
On Thursday July 25, the Energy Corridor sponsored the Transportation Advocacy Group’s event “Women in Transportation,” honoring the regional head of TXDOT, Eliza Paul. While women in STEM have made tremendous strides, The Energy Corridor District is proud to have been a part of honoring Eliza and her incredible legacy.
One of the District’s primary service areas is transportation, and we are partnered with TXDOT on many initiatives from maintenance of the medians along the I-10 Frontage roads to major projects aimed at getting our residents, visitors and workforce moving in the right direction.
We salute Eliza Paul and all the women in transportation who are helping get us where we need to be.

Last month, we welcomed Sgt. Joseph Lewis to the District as the new commander of our contract deputies. Sgt. Lewis brings decades of law enforcement experience to his role keeping the District safe and secure. We caught up with him for a check-in.
