Enhancing Mobility: Multimodal Infrastructure Study in the Energy Corridor District
The Energy Corridor District, in collaboration with the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC), is conducting a comprehensive study to recommend improvements for multimodal infrastructure within our community.
Primary Corridors Under Study:
Memorial Drive – Stretching between State Highway 6 and North Eldridge Parkway.
Grisby Road – Extending from State Highway 6 to Westlake Park Boulevard.
Potential Improvements Being Considered:
Development of high-comfort bikeways to promote safer cycling.
Enhancement and addition of sidewalks and trails for pedestrians.
Intersection safety upgrades to facilitate secure crossings.
Transit stop enhancements to improve public transportation access.
Improved landscaping to beautify the area.
Drainage upgrades to address water management issues.

BikeHouston’s mission is to help residents get around safely and easily by bike. on March 2nd they will hold their “First Sunday†ride starting at the Terry Hershey parking lot on Dairy Ashford (1001 S. Dairy Ashford) at 8:00 am. This all-abilities, no-drop 16-mile loop ride will showcase connections from Terry Hershey in the Energy Corridor to the Brays Bayou Greenway and the trails of the Westchase District. This will be a great opportunity to see how your bike can get you to locations and events while skipping the traffic and parking. As an example, on April 5th you’ll be able to roll to the entrance and BikeHouston will watch your bike for free while you enjoy energyfest!
