Introducing Bob Eury, Interim Executive Director of the District
We are thrilled to announce that Bob Eury, former President and CEO of Central Houston, Inc. and the Houston Downtown Management District, has graciously agreed to serve as the Interim Executive Director of The Energy Corridor District. Bob brings five decades of unparalleled experience in urban planning and community development to this position, making him the ideal candidate to lead our organization
during this transitional period.
Many of you may already be familiar with Bob's exceptional track record of leadership and innovation in the realm of urban planning. For over 38 years, he served as the president and CEO of Central Houston and its affiliated organizations, including the Houston Downtown Management District (Downtown District) and Downtown Redevelopment Authority (DRA). Under his visionary guidance, Downtown Houston underwent a remarkable transformation, becoming a vibrant hub of culture,
commerce and community life.
Bob's extensive experience and expertise in Houston's urban landscape uniquely position him to drive positive change within The Energy Corridor District. His deep understanding of the intricate dynamics of urban development, coupled with his proven leadership abilities, will undoubtedly serve our community well as we navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. We are incredibly grateful to Bob for stepping into this role and for his unwavering commitment to advancing the mission and vision of The Energy Corridor District as we continue to serve the needs of our stakeholders and community.

In honor of Women’s History Month, the District is celebrating its first Board of Directors with two women serving as board members! We sat down with the new members to learn a bit about their backgrounds and what brings them to serve the District.
Kim Coomber-Hallum
Head of Workplace Solutions, Americas bp, People and Culture
With more than 25 years of experience in the Energy industry, Kim
Coomber-Hallum boasts a
commercial background that spans upstream, downstream, trading and shipping, safety and operational risk, finance procurement and,
most recently, people and culture.
When asked what motivatedher to join The Energy Corridor District's board, Kim said, “Due to my role in managing the entire Americas Workplace Solutions team, community leadership and involvement isimportant to me. By being onthe District’s board, I feel like I can make a difference representing bp in our community and make the District a better place.”
Kim is a proud wife and mother. In her free time, she enjoys travel, pilates and cheering on her two sons at their baseball, basketball, football and tennis games.
Shannon Polite Director, Human Resources Operations Fluor Corporation, US Central Region
Shannon Polite is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) with 22 years of experience as an HR practitioner in the Oil, Gas and Energy industry.
Shannon currently holds the position of Director, Human Resources Operations for the US Central Region at Fluor Corporation, a global Fortune 500 engineering, procurement and construction company. Her specific areas of expertise include strategy and organization development, performance management, executive compensation, engagement, employee relations and diversity, equity and inclusion.
Shannon lives with her husband and two children in Richmond, TX. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Join us in welcoming the two newest companies to The Energy Corridor District, aeSolutions and Diamond Offshore!
aeSolutions, a leading consulting and engineering firm with a specialty in industrial process safety and automation, recently announced the opening of its newest office in the Energy Corridor as part of the company’s plans for strategic growth. This location will serve as the central hub for aeSolutions’s
Gulf Coast operations.
Diamond Offshore, a leading offshore drilling firm with 14 rigs and 2,100 global employees, has reaffirmed its commitment to the Energy Corridor by moving its headquarters from a location along Katy Fwy. to One Eldridge, part of a three-building complex in the District owned by Granite Properties. Referring to the move, Lonna Jenks, a representative for Diamond Offshore, said, “[it] represents a significant step forward for Diamond Offshore, enabling them to optimize their operations with a more efficient footprint while simultaneously
elevating the employee experience.”

We're thrilled to announce that this year's event will be presented by none other than CITGO, leading the charge toward a greener, more sustainable future. Last year, our Earth Day celebration was a resounding success, featuring activities like yoga in the park and plant giveaways to nurture our local ecosystem. This year, we're doubling down on the excitement with a special focus on art and initiatives that give back to our beloved planet. Running with my Peeps® 5K/10K Sponsored by The Energy Corridor District
The District is a proud sponsor of the upcoming Running with my Peeps® 5K/10K on Saturday, March 30, 2024. The PEEPS® Kids Dash kicks off the event at 8 AM followed by the 10K at 8:15 AM and the 5K at 8:20 AM at the Addicks Park and Ride.
ALL participants will receive a festive, top-notch, officially licensed PEEPS® finisher medal, participant bib and performance tech t-shirt. There will also be an appearance by the PEEPS® chick mascot and the Easter Bunny and post-race refreshments, including PEEPS® marshmallow candy after you cross the finish line!

Outreach Center of West Houston to Host 21 Year Celebration Casino Night
The Outreach Center of West Houston is hosting Casino night for its 21 Year Celebration. They will be offering a poker tournament and a wide variety of casino games on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 6 PM to 10 PM at the Houston Racquet Club.

Last month, the District collaborated with Stream Realty Partners to host this year’s first CRE Stakeholder Meeting. During the event, Stream gave attendees a tour of the newly redesigned Eldridge Oaks building.
