The Energy Corridor District is a premier, centrally located premier business hub that is home to some of the world’s largest corporations, thousands of acres of parks and open space, good schools and diverse retail. The District has long been home to some of the world’s largest energy companies as well as medium and small start-up, tech and engineering firms, making it the heart and soul of the Energy Capital of the World. Now the District’s pioneering companies are leading energy’s evolution and Houston’s quest to become the Energy Transition Capital of the World. capital of that evolution.

Our Mission/Purpose

The Energy Corridor District, established in 2001 by the Texas Legislature as Harris County Improvement District #4, has a mission to promote, develop, maintain and enhance the area by implementing projects, services and initiatives in the realms of public safety, transportation and mobility, infrastructure, streetscape and economic development. The District was created to promote, develop, encourage, maintain employment, commerce, transportation, housing, recreation, arts, entertainment, economic development, safety and the public welfare within its boundaries. Through leadership, innovation, imagination, advocacy and collaboration, the District creates an environment where industry and community thrive together.
