The Houston Public Library’s Summer Reading Program is a fun, engaging solution to the summer doldrums. Just visit the Belle Sherman Kendall Neighborhood Library and Community Center, located at 609 N. Eldridge, to sign up for the 2010 Summer Reading Program. Kids and teens earn a chance to win an HP mini netbook, board games, books, craft kits, coupons to cool restaurants, and more! This year's theme is “From Fables to Fantasy!.”

Calling all ConocoPhillips Vanpool Riders!
To experience the ease and convenience of the new 75 Energy Corridor Connector firsthand, the Energy Corridor District invites you to join us on Thursday, June 24 as we hop on the 75 Energy Corridor Connector and ride to Watson’s Pub for lunch. We will provide free roundtrip bus fare. So, not only will you have the opportunity to check out the new circulator bus service but you receive a free lunch. Offering same day dry cleaning and laundering service, Presto Cleaners also provides alterations, re-weaving and leather cleaning. Open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., you can take advantage of specials by picking up coupons at a store near you. Shorten Commute Time With METRO’s 75 Energy Corridor Connector
Yolanda Kinmon’s, a security officer in the Energy Corridor District, entire morning schedule revolved around her bus route to work. For the past three years, Kinmon took the 82 Westheimer bus then transferred to the 53 Briarforest and arrived at work at 6:45 a.m. The second leg of her 45 minute commute was the most stressful part of her daily commute. Kinmon woke up half an hour earlier for fear she would miss the 53 Briarforest bus and have to wait 30 minutes for the next bus. If that happened, she would be late to work.
