What a Year 2009 Will Be
TxDOT will wrap up the IH 10 Reconstruction Project in 2009. New sidewalks along Eldridge Parkway provide 10’ wide connections for pedestrians and cyclists where the old MKT railroad underpass was a barrier to walking and cycling. Landscaping is included in TxDOT’s economic stimulus submittal to the federal government and plans are ready to bid if selected. The West Houston Hike & Bike Trail will open this spring along Eldridge Parkway connecting Terry Hershey Park and the City’s bike lanes on Enclave Parkway. New office buildings will open throughout the District including the Energy Center, Eldridge Place III and Eldridge Oaks I. An emergency care facility opened at Eldridge Parkway and Brimhurst next to the wave of restaurants, shops and service businesses. To help you get where you are going, the Energy Corridor District’s street signs and wayfinding signs have been installed district-wide and plans for more streetscape enhancements are in the works. Have something you want to share with the District, just let us know. Call the Energy Corridor District office at 281-759-3800 to share.
