Public Poetry is on the move! Our Summer Series is at a new library in the “Energy Corridor,” so we’re presenting some high energy events to
match. Come catch the next round of readings at Kendall Neighborhood Library, 609 N. Eldridge, 77079 (located off I-10. Or you can use Memorial Drive, which intersects N. Eldridge). You can also bike it thru Terry Hershey Park.
Saturday, July 2, we’ll blast off with a very special guest from NASA, followed by four outstanding Featured Poets. Our youth poets for this event are super high octane slam - MetaFour Houston.
As always, expect a fast paced hour filled with gorgeous language and an assortment of intriguing words that combine to create energy, excitement and an emotional charge. Afterwards, come meet the poets and purchase signed copies of their books. As always, Public Poetry is a partnership with Houston Public Library, and our events are free and family friendly.
You can hear a preview on the radio by tuning in on Tuesday at 7:30 PM to Nuestra Palabra 90.1 FM. Poets will also be interviewed on The Front Row, 91.7 FM. For full details and more information, please visit www.publicpoetry.net.
Public Poetry is seeking a summer intern, as well as a few good volunteers who can commit one hour a week, (or even one hour a month) on a regular basis to advance poetry’s cause. If you're interested, we'd appreciate hearing from you.
Please forward this email to others who would be interested. See you Saturday, July 2, at Kendall Library at 2 PM.
